Decker Library is committed to supporting the online learning environment at MICA. As such we are rolling out new services for the current semester. Here you'll find how to make an eBook purchase and how to request we scan print material owned by the Library.
Recommend an eBook purchase
Key points to review before recommending an eBook purchase
- eBook requests can only be made by Faculty for their classes.
- Priority will be given to requests for classes happening in the current semester.
- eBook access and the license we purchase will depend on the intended use, such as how many students are in the class, how many will be using the resource, and when students will need access to the resource.
- eBooks for Libraries work differently than the kind you can buy personally. We may not be able to fulfill every request. Reasons include the book not being available from our eBook vendor, the book not being available in eBook format, etc. We suggest also checking the Enoch Pratt Free Library if we cannot fulfill your request.
*Please note that filling out the form for an eBook purchase do not guarantee the Library can fulfill your request. If we cannot fulfill the request, we will provide alternative recommendations.
If your recommendation is feasible, please expect a turnaround time of up to two weeks fro the time your request is received to when students will be able to access the title.
You will be notified by email whether or not your request has been fulfilled.
Scanning from the Collection (Document Delivery)
Considering the Library is closed during this current semester, we have launched our Document Delivery services (or DocDel), which is a service where we scan print material owned by Decker Library. See our DocDel page for more information, including how to make a request.
