MICA Illustration Chair and author/illustrator Shadra Strickland in conversation with professor Ruth Toulson, author of Necropolitics of the Ordinary: Death and Grieving in Contemporary Singapore, MICA alumn YY Liak, author/illustrator of Curious Coffins and Riveting Rituals: Death Practices Around the World, and Lisa Perrin professor and author/illustrator of The Secrets of the Séance Society; Illustrated True Stories of Talking to the Dead. The panel will explore the research, art and inspiration behind these titles along with death and its cultural practices.
