Join the Rinehart School of Sculpture in welcoming their first visiting artist of the year, Kianja Strobert. On September 9th at 10:30, she will be giving a lecture at the Fred Lazarus IV Center Auditorium L115. Strobert is an interdisciplinary artist known for her dynamic and expressive mixtures of abstraction and realism. Spanning disciplines and approaches, Strobert’s project-based studio practice is a discourse on the tactile against the suggestive. Strobert attended The Cooper Union, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and received her MFA from Yale University. Her work has been featured in noted periodicals such as The New York Times. The Brooklyn Rail and Modern Painters and is acquired into The Gochman Family, The US Embassy in Mozambique and The Le Centre National des Arts Plastiques, France. She is currently an Assistant Professor in The Department of Art, Film & Visual Studies at Harvard University.
