Join the Rinehart School of Sculpture in welcoming Jann Rosen-Queralt, an inter-disciplinary artist and our school's former director. On October 22nd at 10:00, she will be giving a lecture at the Fred Lazarus IV Center Auditorium L115. Her artworks reveal the poetic nature of water, exploring social and ecological relationships. Nationally recognized, Rosen-Queralt has exhibited artwork and completed dozens of commissions across the US. Notable works include Confluence at Brightwater, a LEED Platinum certified wastewater treatment facility, Seattle, WA. (2011), Percolare, a LEED rated Greenroads project, Raleigh, NC. (2015), Argo, City Lights Festival, Baltimore, MD (2017), A Sparrow on the Floor of a Cathedral in Seven Deadly Sins at the Museum of the Americas, Washington, D.C. (2024), and One Chiliad at the Peale Museum, Baltimore, MD. (2025). Research projects and residencies include an Artist Research Fellowship at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History Washington, D.C. (2018), the Center for Creative Photography in Arizona (2022) and the Arctic Circle, Svalbard Archipelago (2023). That same year she self-published her first book, Heart Beating Beneath the Earth, with a Creative Artist Grant from the Maryland State Arts Council. In 2022, Rosen-Queralt retired from her career as an educator at the Maryland Institute College of Art after 43 years.
