Ben Fann received his BFA in Architectural Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2016. He believes design is a form of communication and that a successful design can clearly convey both an experience and an intent. Since graduation he has been working in architecture as well as in digital fabrication as a technician and instructor at Open Works Baltimore. Living and working in Baltimore for four years since graduating from MICA allowed for a chance to look back and reflect on past experiences with a new perspective. The opportunity to work intimately with the Baltimore community for four year through both architectural and fabrication capacities has helped clarify a path forward. This talk will touch on key projects from undergraduate study, in addition to self driven and professional work one post-graduation, as well as an overview of life after college.
