Please join artist Amy Boone-McCreesh and curator Dany Chan for an artist talk and lecture at MICA on February 27th at 4:30pm in the Brown Center 320 lecture hall. A brief artist talk by Amy Boone-McCreesh about the works featured in High & Low will be followed by a talk by Dany Chan about her interests in art and objects through an eco-critical lens. Chan is the curator of the forthcoming exhibition, Luxury & Loss: Feather, Shell, Tusk, Horn, in which she will examine the legacy and impact of objects of animal origin, exploited for human gain. Luxury & Loss will also feature the work of Amy Boone-McCreesh, with a contemporary response to historical objects on view. The exhibition will be on view in Fall 2026. Both artist and curator share an interest in the ways objects operate in societal structure and what this communicates about the communities involved.
Amy Boone-McCreesh is a Baltimore-based artist and adjunct faculty at MICA and Dany Chan is Associate Curator of Asian Art at the Walters Art Museum.
The artist talk will be immediately followed by the reception for Amy Boone-McCreesh’s Exhibition High & Low located in the Pinkard Gallery in Bunting Center at 1401 Mount Royal Avenue.
