The MICA campus will be open Wednesday, January 28, at 10 a.m. for normal operations. Classes will begin at 10 a.m. Find more details about transportation, food services, and campus safety below, in addition to information for faculty and staff. 

Transportation

• Wednesday

• Circulators will start at 9:45 a.m.

• Evening shuttles will run 5–11 p.m.

Dining

• Wednesday

• Cafe Doris will open at 10 a.m. The other dining options will open at their normally scheduled times.

Parking

• The MICA parking lots are clear for permitted parking. 

• If you normally park on the street, please be aware that the city has not yet cleared those spaces.

 

Faculty and Staff
Essential Personnel should report as scheduled or assigned. Employees whose regularly scheduled telework day is Wednesday should begin work at their regularly scheduled time.

To accommodate on-campus and telework employees who may be experiencing weather-event-related challenges, such as dependents with delayed school openings or school closures or safety concerns about the physical commute to campus, liberal leave is in effect. Liberal leave means that an employee can use their individual accrued leave (personal, floating, or vacation) for hours not worked today, that accommodates their individual situation during a weather event. This applies to on-campus and telework employees.

If an individual decides to take leave or if a telework employee needs to flex their working hours, it is expected that they inform and communicate with their department or supervisors so that appropriate coverage and planning can occur.

Faculty who have weather-related challenges may move to remote learning after consulting with their chair or director. If faculty move to remote learning, they are expected to communicate with students as promptly as possible via Canvas and/or email.

As always, if you are sick, you are able to use your available sick leave.
