In the event that a student’s academics are being negatively impacted by extenuating circumstances, to the extent passing a class is no longer a viable option, students can work with SOS to determine whether or not a Medical Withdrawal would be the appropriate course of action to withdrawal from their class after the general withdrawal deadline for the semester has passed.
REVIEW SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS (CLICK HERE)
Supporting documentation or support from relevant campus partner (such as Title IX Coordinator, or Campus Safety) is required for a Medical Withdrawal. Students must also meet with SOS staff in order for a Medical Withdrawal to be processed.
It is strongly recommended that students meet with their financial aid counselor, by emailing finaid@mica.edu to request an appointment, to discuss the impact a Medical Withdrawal could have on their Financial Aid before they decide to move forward requesting a medical withdrawal from our office.
