Welcome from the Academic Advising Team

Greetings from your Academic Advising Team at MICA!

We're excited to welcome you into our vibrant community of artists and designers, and to partner with you on your educational and professional journey. My name is Ken Dippong, and it's my great privilege to serve as your central point of contact this summer for all things related to your fall schedule and your academic career. Please don't hesitate to call on me whenever you have questions or concerns!

Before we roll up our sleeves and begin constructing your schedule (which will happen very soon), there's one important task you need to complete, namely the activation of your MICA account/email address. There are a couple of reasons why this is critical:

In order to enroll in classes you'll need to log into the MICA portal (and this requires an activated account).

After today I'll be sending updates/information to your MICA address (and you don't want to miss out on those communications).

You should have received an email from the MICA Help Desk (help@mica.edu) with instructions for completing this process. If you didn't, please let me know asap!

At some point in the next few days you'll receive an invitation from me to schedule a time for fall advising and registration. This process will be taking place in small group sessions (and on Zoom), so you'll also have an opportunity to meet some of your peers. Stay tuned for updates!

Finally, I wanted to let you know that it's not too late to apply as a First Year Fellow; applications for the Creative Entrepreneurship and Ecosystems, Sustainability & Justice tracks are being accepted until June 1st. As an incoming student, you really have the ability to enhance your First Year Experience by specializing in one of these areas!

OK, I think that's enough for now--we'll be talking again soon enough. Like I said, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks for taking the time to read all of this, and congratulations on your admission to MICA!

Sincerely,

Ken
