Four MICA students have been named finalists in the 2026 AXA Art Prize, one of the nation’s premier competitions recognizing outstanding undergraduate and graduate artists working in figurative painting, drawing, and original printmaking.
MICA finalists are Grace Hall ’27 (Painting BFA), Malyssa Ollar ’28 (General Fine Arts and History of Art, Design, and Visual Culture BFA), Klara Seib ’26 (Painting and Studio and Humanities Sciences BFA), and Nadia Tomoney ’27 (Painting BFA).
Now in its ninth year in the United States, the AXA Art Prize has earned a national reputation for showcasing exceptional emerging talent. This year, nearly 600 submissions from art students across the country were reviewed by regional jurors, with just 40 artists selected as finalists. Their work will be featured this fall in an exhibition at the New York Academy of Art in New York City. Winners will be announced during the exhibition at the New York Academy of Art this November 2026.
