November 23 Human Resources Memo

A memo to provide resources and advice to help the MICA community take care of themselves.

Good morning,

We know many in our MICA community are dealing with stress and anxiety, whether due to current workloads and approaching finals, the upcoming holidays, and everything in between.

Remember to make space to feel safe, recharge, and to take care of yourself, especially when events outside your control challenge your resiliency and sense of well-being. Don’t be afraid to reach out to others and make a connection, or to take time alone for yourself for reflection. Whatever you need, be gentle with yourself.

If you need additional support, don’t hesitate to seek out counseling. Students can call and schedule an appointment at the MICA Student Counseling Center at 410-225-2367. MICA faculty and staff have access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), which provides licensed professional counseling.

Whether you are a student or employee of the College, you can also find a list of helpful resources and wellness tools put together by the Student Health Center. For more information, please visit: mica.edu/student-resources/counseling-services/wellness-corner/.

We are a supportive community and we care deeply about each other’s wellbeing. You are a part of this community and you are not alone.

Thank you,
MICA People, Belonging & Culture
