Dear MICA Community,

Thanks to the extraordinary collaboration and cooperation of our community, MICA has achieved a 98% vaccination rate and our students, faculty, and staff continue to be conscientious and thoughtful in honoring our indoors masking requirement. These two measures have kept our positivity rate extremely low and have carried us successfully through the beginning of the semester. We are, therefore, happy to announce that the College will be extending building access hours for the Fall 2021 semester starting November 29th. These extended hours have been safely integrated into expanded Operational Mode 4 because of the exemplary campus environment fostered by all of our community members.

Beginning Monday, November 29, 2021, the MICA academic buildings listed below will have extended hours through the end of the semester on Friday, December 17, 2021.

The following buildings will allow 24-hour access:

• Brown Center
• Fox Building
• 15/15 Mt. Royal
• Mt. Royal Station Building
• Dolphin Design Center
• Fred Lazarus IV Center

The Main Building, Film Centre and the Evening Safety Shuttles will offer extended hours:

• Main Building will remain open until 1:00 am to allow photography students to access the photography studio facilities.
• Film Centre will remain open until 1:00am to allow Film Centre students to access the facilities.
• Beginning Monday evening, November 29, MICA Evening Safety Shuttles will run from 5:00 pm-7:00 am to accommodate the change in building hours.  The extended shuttle service will continue through Saturday morning, December 18, at 7:00 am when the service ends for the semester.
