The Tell-Tale Arts
Since almost the beginning — since at least 45,500 years ago, when a prehistoric artist used an Indonesian cave wall as a canvas to paint wild pigs engaged in a fight — visual makers have been natural storytellers. And while methods have grown more refined and the tales more complicated over the centuries, the narrative role of art persists. MICA’s community continues this tradition. They are using their creative skills to chronicle the world around them, connect events of yesterday to today, and amplify the stories of others both locally and around the world.
