Donald Ely ’04 (Illustration BFA), recently art directed, designed and illustrated Madonna's latest single “Hung Up on Tokischa” which was released on September 16, 2022. This marks Donald's first collaboration with his lifelong muse and inspiration. In the past, he has designed single covers for We Are King, and an EP cover for TT the Artist (Tedra Wilson), a fellow MICA alumni. He also designed and illustrated the poster and soundtrack art for TT's Netflix documentary, Dark City: Beneath the Beat.

If you had asked me when I was a little boy if I’d ever get the chance to work with the woman who would eventually provide the soundtrack to my life, I would have probably laughed it off or blushed from embarrassment.
