March 24 PB&C Memo

Information around this year's interim performance evaluation option.

Good morning,

As announced earlier this week at the Town Hall, People, Belonging & Culture will adopt an interim, simplified process for the 2021-2022 performance review year.

This decision is in response to feedback received regarding the Performance Review process in Workday that was announced earlier this month. Our goal is to reduce the time commitment required, stress, and anxiety around the process. The interim, simplified process is in place while a new program is developed that will provide the tools required for employees to feel supported and will replace the previously announced Annual Review in Workday.

If you would like to have an annual review completed, you can use the simplified process by completing the PDF form that should not require more than a couple of hours of your time to complete. If you have already completed the Self Evaluation in Workday, you do not have to complete this simplified process. If you do not want to engage in this process and would prefer to wait for the formal program next year, you do not have to complete this Annual Review Form.

Below are the deadlines and step-by-step instructions to completing the simplified process:

  • April 15, 2022: Step 1 - Employee completes Sections 1 – 3

  • April 29, 2022: Step 2 - Supervisor reviews the employee’s sections and completes Sections 4 – 5

  • May 6, 2022: Step 3 - Supervisor and employee meet for Annual Review discussion

  • May 11, 2022: Step 4 - Employee can provide feedback if needed and should complete Section 6

  • May 13, 2022: Step 5 - Supervisor and employee complete Section 6

  • May 20, 2022: Step 6 - Employee uploads completed and signed form to Workday.

Live training sessions to discuss the simplified review process will be held on the following dates:

If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback throughout this process, please email PB&C at pbc@mica.edu

Thank you.
