Marshall “Britt” Wright Jr., MBA, is an Adjunct Professor in the MA/MBA Design Leadership program—jointly offered by MICA and Johns Hopkins Carey Business School—where he teaches DESLD 5540: Forecasting & Realization. A brand strategy executive and operator, Wright serves as Director of Strategy & Brand Management at Culture Brands, leading research, analytics, and go-to-market strategy for Hyundai Motors North America while overseeing business strategy and operations for The Happy Hues Co. (baby care) and IYKYK Games (tabletop gaming).
Across 15 years at Culture Brands, Nestlé, and Altria, Wright has held roles spanning sales, digital marketing, brand management, supply chain, and finance—experience that underpins his strengths in P&L ownership, consumer insight, data storytelling, and cross-functional leadership. He specializes in turning research into action: shaping positioning, building MVP-to-market roadmaps, designing pricing models and financial projections, and guiding teams from concept to commercial performance.
Wright’s teaching philosophy treats the classroom as both creative studio and strategic lab, connecting culture and commerce through applied learning. Students leave with durable tools: opportunity assessment frameworks, MVP testing plans, business-model and cash-flow projections, and investor-ready narratives that translate ideas into operating plans.
He holds an MBA from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business and a BA in Communication from George Mason University. A proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, he enjoys live music, travel, and chasing pars on the golf course. He is married and calls Maryland home, but is always proud of his Virginia roots.
