Lisk Feng '14

Part-Time Faculty, Illustration Practice MFA /

Lisk Feng is an award-winning illustrator who was initially from China and is now a freelance illustrator in New York. 

She graduated with an MFA in Illustration Practice from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2014, with many publications and advertising projects seen by the world, such as The New Yorker, The New York Times, Estée Lauder, ELLE, Apple, Penguin, Airbnb, The New York Times, Chanel, etc. Meanwhile, her illustrations received some awards and recognitions, such as two Silver Medals from the Society of Illustrators, three Communication Arts Excellence Awards, the 3X3 Silver Medal, 8 times American Illustration awards, etc.

She also published children's books with Phaidon, Enchanted Lion, The Flying Eye Books, Abrams, and Kids Can Press. 

She was awarded one of the Art Directors Club's 15 young gun artists among all artists from all fields worldwide in 2017. She was also selected on the Forbes 30 under 30 Art and Style list in 2019, won the Bologna Ragazzi Award with the book Everest in 2019, and the D&AD Silver Pencil Award in 2020. Her Book, There was a Shadow, was a 2024 New York Times Children`s Book and 2024 Oprah`s Favorite Things.

She was the Society of Illustrators 2023 co-chair, and in 2024, she became the chair.
