Lisa Perrin joined the full-time illustration faculty in 2018. A proud graduate of the MFA Illustration Practice program, Perrin also holds a BFA in Drawing and Painting and a BA in English from SUNY New Paltz. Prior to joining academia, she spent five years as an in-house illustrator at American Greetings card company in Cleveland, Ohio. Perrin’s work has been recognized by The Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, 3x3 Magazine, and Print Magazine. Her clients include Macy’s, Anthropologie, Penguin Random House, Harper Collins, Macmillan, Nobrow, LUSH, Boston Globe, Scholastic, The Saturday Evening Post, Spotify, and The United States Postal Service. Perrin is currently represented by Sally Heflin Reps. She is the author and illustrator of The League of Lady Poisoners published in 2023, as well as The Secrets of the Seance Society released in 2026, both published by Chronicle Books. At its heart, her work explores the old world in a new way, combining humor with darkness, and beauty with strangeness.
I am constantly impressed and inspired by my hardworking students. I am moved by their enthusiasm, abounding creativity, their thoughtfulness, and compassion. Teaching them is a great honor and privilege.
