Kim Bentley '08

Part-Time Faculty / Graphic Design MFA

Kim Bentley is a Baltimore-based artist, designer, printmaker, and educator. She received her BFA in Illustration at the University of Delaware, and MFA in Graphic Design at the Maryland Institute College of Art, where she fell in love with printmaking and spent much of her studio time making prints and handmade books. Her studio practice centers on abstract designs and is inspired by one-of-a-kind marks, accidents, and the complexity of overlapping color and pattern, often combining screen printing, letterpress and Risograph printing.

Kim also co-owns and runs a public-access print studio, called Baltimore Print Studios, with her husband, Kyle Van Horn. Founded in 2010, this studio teaches workshops and offers public press rentals in letterpress, screenprinting and Risograph. At BPS, Kim develops and teaches workshops, consults with artists and designers on their projects, and creates colorful prints and products.
