Greetings Residents and Happy New Year, 

The Office of Residence Life is excited to welcome you back to the Residence Halls for the Spring 2022 Semester! 

MICA is operating in a manner to create a low-risk environment for students as it pertains to COVID-19. The Office of Residence Life will be utilizing a sign-up process that will limit the number of residents moving into a specific Residence Hall during a given period of time. This will reduce the number of individuals interacting with one another during this timeframe. 

Move-In Dates: 
Residents who are returning to their assignments will be able to move in during designated hours between Friday, January 14, 2022 through Thursday, January 20, 2022. If you need to arrive outside of these times or dates, please contact residencelife@mica.edu for assistance. 

The length of time to move into the residence halls is extended to afford ample opportunity for residents to move back in. As a further measure to ensure a successful start to the semester, all BFA and residential graduate courses will be conducted virtually the first week of classes (Tuesday, January 18 - Friday, January 21).

Move-In Instructions: 
Residents were instructed to maintain possession of their room keys and their MICA ID. You will need both in order to return to the Residence Halls. Once you have your arrival time scheduled, you may arrive on campus and return directly to the front desk of your Residence Hall. 

There will be a QR Code at the front desk where you will complete a form confirming your arrival. After you verify your arrival, you may proceed to your assigned room. 

If you have any questions or concerns about your access to an assignment, please contact us to let us know immediately. Depending on your arrival time, the Office of Residence Life and other Campus Partners may be closed. 

Sign-Up Process: 
To maintain a low-risk environment, residents will be required to sign-up in advance for an arrival appointment using the Housing Portal. We will be limiting the amount of residents moving in each hour to each residence hall so that there are minimal interactions with others as residents arrive back to their rooms. Sign-up for a time to move in will open at 9:00 AM ET on Thursday, January 6, 2022 and close 9:00 AM ET Monday, Jan 17, 2022. 

Please note that, if you already have travel plans that cannot be changed, you must email residencelife@mica.edu to ensure that we are aware of your plans.

Additionally:

• If you are exhibiting symptoms of any kind, do not return to campus until approved to do so by a medical provider.
• Students are strongly encouraged to take a PCR COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to arrival on campus. If you test positive, stay home until medically cleared. Please contact Student Health Services (410-225-4118) to notify them of this test result.
