Portfolio Pieces

This film is hand drawn in pencil and colored on paper with Prismacolors, then scanned into the computer and compiled in AfterEffects. It is 1:35 minutes. Ratio 16:9 This film was inspired by my growing up and the good night poem that my grandmother used to say to me and my siblings at bedtime. I started this film by animating in my free time when I was younger and freelancing. Then I had to hand color it. I scanned it page by page with a peg bar taped to the top of my flatbed scanner. It took over 20 years to actually finish, since I got married and had children of my own in between. I still say this poem at bedtime to my family. The voices in the film are actually Mimi’s great grandchildren saying the poem. + Enlarge
