Ghazal Atarod is a visual artist and educator specializing in painting, drawing, and printmaking. She holds an MFA in Painting and a BA in Textile Design and Printing. With over 20 years of teaching experience in higher education, she has been teaching at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) since 2023, where she teaches Drawing Fundamentals and has also taught Color Design.
Her recent project, Biomorphic Bodies, explores organic forms that emerge through improvisation, blending personal inquiry with collective imagination. While her work carries subtle echoes of Persian image-making traditions, it develops a contemporary visual language that bridges cultural memory and the present.
Atarod has presented her work in solo and group exhibitions in Iran and the United States.
