Firmin DeBrabander is a professor of philosophy, with a specialty in political philosophy.

Dr. DeBrabander is the author of three books: Life After Privacy, published by Cambridge University Press in 2020; Do Guns Make us Free? (Yale University Press, 2015); and Spinoza and the Stoics (Bloomsbury Press, 2007). He writes social and political commentary for a variety of national publications, including the New York TimesWashington PostLA TimesChicago TribuneBoston GlobeBaltimore SunSalonThe Atlantic and The New Republic. In addition to political philosophy, also teaches courses in Greek Philosophy, Aesthetics, Moral Philosophy, the Philosophy of Religion, and the Philosophy of Economics.
