Erinn E. Hagerty '16

Erinn E. Hagerty is an interdisciplinary artist employing animation, film and video, kinetic sculpture, microscopy, and installation. She serves as Area Head of MICA’s Animation program, and is a full-time faculty member focused on 3-Dimensional topics, professional practice, and digital & analog integration. She is a recipient of the MICA Trustee Fellowship for Excellence in Teaching. Hagerty earned her BA from the University of Pennsylvania and her MFA from the Mount Royal School of Art at the Maryland Institute College of Art.

While developing her own films, she has also produced animations for children’s series, operas, museums and exhibitions. Hagerty’s personal and group productions have exhibited and screened internationally, including at the Slamdance Film Festival (USA), Victoria Film Festival (Canada), Pori Film Festival (Finland), PIAFF, Paris International Animation Film Festival (France), Contemporary Art Ruhr Photo/Media Art Fair (Germany), Light City Baltimore (USA), Milwaukee Underground Film Festival (USA), cellu l’art Kurtzfilmfestival Jena (Germany), Indie Memphis Film Festival (USA), Mills Gallery (Boston), Institute of Contemporary Art (Philadelphia), New Alliance Gallery (Somerville), Aggregate Space Gallery (Oakland), Spacetime Projects (Miami), and School 33 Art Center (Baltimore). She is Co-Founder of the artist collective, Unfolding of the Wave, with her collaborator Adam Savje; together they develop films and installations that implement abstract visuals to create a space for reflecting on the nature of relationships. Their roving studio thrives between Boston, MA, Philadelphia, PA, and Baltimore, MD.
