Dave Greber was born in Philadelphia, shaped by seventeen years in New Orleans, and is now based in Baltimore. He teaches Contemporary Visual Languages and New Media in the First Year Experience department at MICA.
His practice spans video, installation, sculpture, and performance, creating environments that explore attention, ritual, and the influence of technology on perception. Much of his work engages the intersections of capitalism and spirituality, and how these forces shape experience. In addition to his studio work, he consults with museums, institutions, and artists on media production, fabrication, exhibition design, and documentation.
Greber has exhibited at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, C24 Gallery in New York, and Sculpture Month Houston, with solo shows at the Arthur Roger Gallery. He began exhibiting with the artist-run collective The Front in New Orleans, produced a 52-channel commission for MTA Arts and Design at the Fulton Center in Manhattan, and has participated in residencies in Norway, Russia, Estonia, and the U.S. Recent collaborations include A Structure Envisioned for Changing Circumstances, linking artists and curators across Europe and the U.S.
He holds a BA in Film and Media Arts from Temple University and an MFA in Digital Media from Tulane University. He also teaches at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), where he offers courses in Time-Based Media, Real-Time Animation, and Motion Graphics.
