Art for a New Cultural Landmark
The Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) is pleased to invite students, faculty, alumni, and staff to submit artwork for consideration in a new exhibition partnership with The Paramount Baltimore, a premier live music and entertainment venue located within Baltimore's Warner Street Entertainment District. The venue is designed to host concerts, performances, and cultural events while welcoming thousands of visitors annually.

Artists are encouraged to submit work that explores one or more of the following:

Music and performance

Baltimore culture and identity

Entertainment and popular culture
-
Legends, icons, and influential figures (Rap, Country, Blues, Jazz, Rock, Metal, Classical etc. artists from the past and present) Visual examples here

Community and collective experience
-
Movement, rhythm, and energy
-
The intersection of art, culture, and public life
Both representational and abstract interpretations are welcome.

Artists may submit up to three works for consideration.

Small-scale sculpture or wall-mounted dimensional work
All submitted works must be ready for professional exhibition installation.
Application Requirements
Artists should provide (in the submission form):

Retail price (if available for sale)

Artist statement (100–250 words) - including which themes / subject of focus

Sales
Artwork may be offered for sale at the artist's discretion.

Artists retain 100% of artwork sales.

Interested buyers will be connected directly with the artist.

MICA and The Paramount Baltimore will not take commission on sales during this exhibition period.
- Exhibits are not commissioned, but the artist may display advanced contact information with the sale price.

Diversity of perspectives, media, and artistic approaches
A curatorial panel composed of representatives from MICA and The Paramount Baltimore will review submissions.
Timeline
Submission Deadline: Aug 15th, 2026
Notification of Artists: September 1st, 2026
Artwork Delivery: Oct 1- 15th, 2026
Exhibition Opening: November 1st, 2026
Exhibit Closing: Artwork should remain installed for 1 year unless otherwise agreed upon
Exhibition Space Considerations
The Paramount Baltimore is a large-scale public venue designed to accommodate significant audience traffic and expansive interior spaces.
Artists are encouraged to consider works that:

Have a strong visual presence

Can be viewed from a distance
-
Engage large public spaces
-
Reflect the energy and scale of a music and entertainment venue
Large-scale works are encouraged, though artists working at all scales are welcome to apply.
Wall Dimensions
Available exhibition walls range from approximately 8–20 feet wide and 8–12 feet high.


About The Paramount Baltimore
The Paramount Baltimore is a new live music and entertainment destination located in Baltimore's Warner Street district near M&T Bank Stadium. The venue is expected to host concerts, performances, corporate events, and cultural programming while attracting large audiences from across the region.
