Bora Shin ‘04 is an award-winning design leader focused on building socially responsible brands and user-centric service products with two decades of design and industry experience.
Since earning her BFA from MICA in 2004 in Graphic Design with a concentration in Environmental Design, she has followed her passions, including helping achieve social equity and shared well-being through design-driven processes. This exploration led her to serve as the first designer at the LA Mayor’s Office where she implemented a design fellowship track at the UNICEF’s Office of Innovation so county offices in countries such as Uganda and Nigeria can work with design talents and served as a partner at verynice, where half of its dedicated design service is offered pro-bono. She has also held leadership positions at brands such as Samsung and is considered a leader in AI and emerging technologies.
Bora’s work is highly praised and has won many awards, such as The Type Director's Club, AIGA 365, and How Magazine International Design Annual. She also serves as an associate professor at ArtCenter College of Design, teaching visual interaction, branding, and transmedia design.
