TRAVEL INFORMATION
- Residential Arrival:
Session 1 and Combined Session students arrive Sunday, July 12, before 1 pm EST
Session 2 students arrive Sunday, July 26, before 1 pm EST
Students traveling by car should arrive between 9 am and 1 pm - Commuter Student Arrival:
Session 1 and Combined Session students arrive Monday, July 13, 8 am EST
Session 2 students arrive Monday, July 27, 8 am EST
Students will check in at the welcome table, and staff will assist with locating their classroom. - Residential Departure:
Session 1 students depart Saturday, July 25, before 12 pm EST
Session 2 and Combined Session students depart Saturday, August 8, before 12 pm EST
Students must depart campus on our last shuttle at 12 pm EST, but families may schedule travel for later that day if necessary. Students will be brought to the appropriate station and may await their departure independently.
All Residential Students may depart on the last Friday of their session after the final exhibition work has been de-installed and apartment check-out duties have been completed. Students and families should inform Program staff if students plan to leave on that day.
Commuter Student Departure:
Session 1 students depart on Friday, July 24, 8-9pm EST
Session 2 and Combined Session students depart Saturday, August 7, 8-9pm EST
Commuter students will depart from campus immediately after their final exhibition showcase on the last day of class.
METHODS OF TRAVEL
- By Airplane:
Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI) is the only airport we will provide shuttle services to/from, and flights must arrive and depart on the move-in days above to access the shuttle service. Shuttles are for students arriving/departing independently and cannot accommodate additional individuals or guardians. After collecting bags, students should proceed to Southwest Airlines Baggage Claim Carousels 10 & 11 to meet a PreCollege staff member who will be holding a “MICA PreCollege” sign. A MICA shuttle will transport students in groups from the airport to campus in time for Orientation. - By Train:
Baltimore Penn Station located at 1500 N Charles St, Baltimore, MD 21201 is the only train station we will provide shuttle services to/from and trains must arrive and depart on the move-in days above in order to have access to shuttle services. Shuttles are for students arriving/departing independently and cannot accommodate additional individuals. Upon arrival, students should meet at the Information Desk located in the waiting area below the large sign with arrival and departure times, where PreCollege staff will be waiting with “MICA PreCollege” signs. A MICA shuttle will then transport students in groups from the station to campus in time for orientation. - By Bus:
Baltimore Downtown Bus Station 2110 Haines St, Baltimore, MD 21230 is the only bus station we will provide shuttle services to/from, and buses must arrive and depart on the Move In days above to access shuttle services. Shuttles are for students arriving/departing independently and cannot accommodate additional individuals. - By Car:
Families and students arriving by car should use the following address
Founders Green, Leake Hall 120 McMechen Street Baltimore, MD 21217. Students may not drive themselves or have a vehicle at PreCollege throughout the program dates.
For students living in different time zones, we understand that the arrival and departure windows may not be possible. In the case your student is unable to arrive on the date noted and within the time window, please contact precollege@mica.edu to confirm travel plans before booking. Please also complete the travel itinerary form after receiving approval for any modified travel plans.
