Studio Courses offer scaffolded skill development to prepare entry-level product/industrial designers to work in a diverse range of fields (from footwear and furniture to medical devices and consumer electronics).
Through hands-on studio projects and industry partnerships students learn drawing, prototyping, and computer modeling along with user research, testing strategies, and persuasive visual communication. Innovative product concepts are developed within the complex interactions of user research, manufacturing realities, historical understanding, and social imaginaries. These skills and methods will prepare students for the practice of product/industrial design and can act as a translation between the Design & Innovation co-majors as well as Interdisciplinary Sculpture, Social Design, Illustration, Game Design and other disciplines.
