This is a year-long program for incoming first year students focused on integrating studio research with emergent technologies, project-based learning, professional practice, and financial literacy. Entrepreneurial minded students of all interests and backgrounds can apply to be a part of the First Year Fellows program. Students selected for this experience will live together in Leake Hall, be enrolled in entrepreneurial focused First Year Experience classes and participate in co-curricular programming specifically designed to support budding entrepreneurship.
This minor provides majors from any area a structured framework in which to deepen their creative, critical thinking and business skills so they will be equipped to create change in the world as an artist, designer, business owner, and/or community organizer.

ENTER/IN provides an opportunity for MICA Faculty to receive funding to support the logistical needs of coordinating an industry tour for their class. This program is geared towards exposing students to different industries by showcasing local creative enterprises.
This is a one-day experience designed to support students in envisioning creative entrepreneurial pathways. Shadow a local Baltimore creative entrepreneur to learn about what entrepreneurship looks like on a day-to-day basis across different creative industries.
This competition inspires students and alumni to share their ideas with the MICA Community through a 1-min pitch. The MICA community will vote for the people’s choice winners to compete to win cash prizes with the new top award being $5,000, followed by $3,000, $1,500 and $500 as seed investment into the idea.
This competition focuses on incubating and building creative businesses within the MICA community. Working with industry partners, UP/Start provides mentorship and capital to help nurture ideas into sustainable businesses. Finalists compete for a pool of $105,000 to support the launch and growth of their ventures!
This program provides students with the opportunity to participate in a valuable summer business internship experience working alongside a creative entrepreneur or founder. The fellowships of up to $3,000 are awarded to selected students who have demonstrated interest in creative entrepreneurship and have secured an internship offer working with a creative entrepreneur.
