    Jose A. Villarrubia

    Born in Madrid, Spain, and living now in Baltimore, Jose Villarrubia is best known for his collaborations with author Alan Moore: his illustrations for his books Voice of the Fire and The Mirror of Love and his graphic novel Promethea. His fine art photographs have been shown in over one hundred exhibitions nationally and internationally. They have also been featured in several anthologies and are part of the permanent collections of institutions like the Baltimore Museum of Art and the Inter-American Development Bank. In comics, he has worked extensively for Marvel, DC, Image, Wildstorm, Vertigo and other publishers, mostly doing painted colors for series such as Fantastic Four 1234, Captain America, Superman: Metropolis, X-Men Unlimited, Spiderman/Doctor Octopus: Year One, and the upcoming series Batman: City Limits and Batman Year 100. With Stephen John Phillips he worked the Eisner Award nominated graphic novel Veils and covers for Flinch and 20/20 Visions.
