Group Advising

Before beginning an online application, all students must attend a required group advising session. Sessions are held most Wednesdays from 2:30 to 3:30, check the events page or stop into International Education (during walk-in hours) for location details.

Can't make it during that time? Email International Education for an individual appointment.

During advising we'll talk about researching programs, application procedures, finances, course approvals/transfer credit policies, and preparing for study abroad.

Before attending the group advising session, you should read through the Semester Study Abroad website, begin researching programs that interest you and match your academic needs, and create a list of questions to bring to the session. Keep in mind that the earlier you plan, the more prepared for study abroad you will be! International Education recommends students start at least two semesters BEFORE going abroad.

After the group session, you can come in during Walk-In Hours with questions, email/call us, or make individual appointments for help and advising. All students applying for study abroad are required to meet at least once with International Education prior to turning in an application.
