Olivia Haslop '16

Olivia grew up in Columbus, OH, and earned a BFA in Graphic Design from Ohio Northern University. The summer following graduation, she worked as a Communications Officer at Prakash Deep, a nonprofit school for underprivileged children in Faridabad, Haryana, India. In addition to her role as a Communications Officer, she also taught a self-defense class for the students.

Upon returning to the states, she worked as a Graphic Designer at Angell-Demmel NA, specializing in decorative aluminum, automotive interior trim. Eager to have more of a positive impact on the world, Olivia was drawn to the Social Design MA at MICA, where her thesis work focused on supporting the efforts of rare disease patient organizations.

Today, Olivia works as a Design Strategist at Little Bird Innovation in Memphis, TN. Inspired by the belief that creativity, innovation, and compassion can make the world a better place, she uses human-centered design to bridge the gap between thought and action by developing practical and desirable solutions to address complex social issues.
