Molly Reddy

MA Social Design

Class of 2017

Molly was born and raised in Wisconsin, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with double majors in Community & Nonprofit Leadership and Latin American Studies. As an undergrad in the international student organization AIESEC, Molly interned in Medellín, Colombia, with a nonviolence and civic education organization that spurred her interest in community and global development. This led her to serve as a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay from 2011-2013, where she worked on national youth leadership initiatives, as well as co-designing public space and youth workforce development projects with her local community. Molly returned to Paraguay in 2014 and worked on the launch of Paraguay's first national volunteer service program, Arovia, which matches Paraguayan volunteers to high need communities around the country for a year of service.

During Molly's time in the MA in Social Design (MASD), she worked on a year-long practice-based studio with Baltimore City Health Department, conducted her thesis in partnership with the Mayor's Office of Employment Development, and worked on civic innovation projects with Impact Hub Baltimore. These projects re-affirmed her belief in the power of human-centered design in government, as well as the power of co-design and engaging populations most affected by an issue as experts, collaborators, and fellow designers throughout the human-centered design process.

Today, Molly works as a Service Design Strategist on the Design Thinking & Service Design team at Booz Allen Hamilton. She is also a StartingBloc Fellow, was a recipient of the MICA LAB Award, and is a member of the International Development Innovation Network.
