Born in Aruba, Renwick Heronimo decided early on to make a career in the arts and began by studying architectural design and fine arts in the Netherlands and the U.S. He returned to the Caribbean in 1992, where he participated as both an artist and curator in numerous international exhibits and cultural projects for more than a decade, eventually directing an experimental art space. More recently, he has focused exclusively on coordinating interdisciplinary exhibitions and related events that highlight contemporary Caribbean art. Renwick's thesis was entitled "In The Shadow of Babel." Since graduating from MICA, Renwick has returned to Aruba, where he has as growing presence as a critic and curator of contemporary art and film both locally and internationally.
