Jessica Bither received her undergraduate degree from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where she completed a double major, in art history and English. She moved to Baltimore in 2013 to attend Maryland Institute College of Art. Jess was one of the first students to participate in MICA's Critical Studies program. Her thesis was entitled "Unsettled: An Investigation of Hans Bellmer's Doll Photographs." She is happy to be part of the MICA community, now as a part-time instructor in the department of Humanistic Studies. Jess teaches the freshman required course Critical inquiry as well as writing and film classes. When she isn't teaching at MICA, she enjoys getting to know Baltimore on foot as a dog walker.
