Graduate Orientation To-Do List

To help you get started in your transition to MICA, we have created a To-Do List with important action items and tasks for you to complete before you start classes on Monday, August 31st.

ASAP Schedule an appointment with your doctor/physician to complete your Health History Form. After this is completed, mail it, along with your immunization record to Student Affairs. For more information on these documents, click here.
Weekly Check your MICA email for a weekly newsletter from the Office of Graduate Studies and begin to familiarize yourself with graduate resources at

Attend the "Housing" Webinar (online) to find out more information on housing options in Baltimore
July/August Explore the Portal, "MyMICA," where you will find important news and updates. You can also access your personal information, along with your class schedule and student account.
July/August Request disability support services with the Learning Resource Center at 410-225-2416 or via email at
July/August Register for Emergency Text Messaging by visiting, signing in (at the top right) & visiting My Account and Profile > MICA Alert / Rave Guardian
July/August Book your travel arrangements, plane tickets, car rental, U-haul truck rentals, etc...if needed.

7/6  8/10 Register for Fall 2015 classes.
8/3 Fall 2015 tuition payment due. You can go online to make payment by credit card or personal check, or you can mail check payment to the college. Please review payment policies by checking out the Student Accounts website.
8/4 Deadline to submit your headshot picture for your MiCARD (MICA student ID) to
12pm (EDT)
Attend the "Last Minute Q & A" Webinar (online) to ask any last minute questions you have before Orientation.
8/30 If you are on a 529 Plan or State-Sponsored Tuition Savings Plan, please make sure that the program has all the appropriate MICA contact information so funds can be readily forwarded to the College. Additional information about the administration of these plans can be viewed on the Student Accounts website.
8/30 If you would like to create a Flex Account and/or add money to your student ID Card, please click here. Flex dollars can be used at MICA Cafes, the library, and the Graduate Lab.
9/2 It's not too late to sign up for MICA's monthly pay plan, Tuition Management Systems. You can sign up online or call toll free 800-722-4867.
9/5 Last day to change your meal plan.
9/30 Last day to waive participation (if you have current coverage) in the MICA-sponsored health insurance. All students are required to have health insurance before they arrive on campus. If you do not have a comparable, private coverage, then you must purchase the college-sponsored plan for $1,500/year. All International Students are required to have MICA-sponsored health insurance.
