New Citation and Plagiarism LibGuide

New Citation and Plagiarism LibGuide

Posted 04.20.16

With finals quickly coming due, it's important to make sure you're correctly citing your sources. To make things easier, we've created this handy guide to citing articles, books, databases and web resources using Chicago, MLA and APA style guides.

The guide will introduce you to sources like WorldCat, a site that aggregates library holdings from around the world, as well as Citation Machine and EasyBib, free tools that automatically format citations for you. For those of you who are managing lots of papers this term, the guide will also introduce you to Zotero, an open-source tool that allows you to save your journal articles and export a completed bibliography.

Also remember that our catalog can provide you with a citation for any of its holdings via its "Cite This" button. Be sure to call 410.225.2273, email refer@mica.edu, or stop by the reference desk on the lower level if you are in need of any more assistance or information!

Founded in 1826, Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) is the oldest continuously degree-granting college of art and design in the nation. The College enrolls nearly 3,500 undergraduate, graduate and continuing studies students from 49 states and 65 countries in fine arts, design, electronic media, art education, liberal arts, and professional studies degree and non-credit programs. With art and design programs ranked in the top ten by U.S. News and World Report, MICA is pioneering interdisciplinary approaches to innovation, research, and community and social engagement. Alumni and programming reach around the globe, even as MICA remains a cultural cornerstone in the Baltimore/Washington region, hosting hundreds of exhibitions and events annually by students, faculty and other established artists.
