Important Academic Advising Dates This Month

November - Sophomore Advising Month
All current Sophomores meet with their academic advisors for advising sessions to review academic progress and plans. Students will not be able to register for next semester until they've completed their advising. Don't wait until the last minute to make an appointment or you could miss this priority time! Phone 410.225.2315 or stop by Academic Advising to schedule an appointment.

November - Registration Appointments Posted

View your registration appointment in the box "Enrollment Dates" on your Student Center. This shows the first time that you can begin registration. You can continue to adjust your registration through the add/drop period next semester.

November 2 - Spring 2010 Schedule of Courses is published

See course offerings and registration instructions for next semester. Read up on course descriptions and talk with faculty, colleagues, your academic advisor to help determine your course choices. You can also start adding items to your shopping cart in preparations for your registration appointment. Remember: you can't register if you haven't met with your academic advisor.

November 12 - Choosing Your Major/Minor/Concentration: A Conversation about Decision-Making, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., Brown 320

An informal discussion for Foundation students about the major decision process. Learn about MICA's majors, minors, and concentrations; hear from upperclass students and alumni on how they decided on their own programs of study; and get some tips on next steps to take toward the major declaration process.

November 13 - Major Cafe, 3:30 -5:30p.m., Leidy Atrium, Brown Center

A program for Foundation students organized by Academic Advising and The Joseph Meyerhoff Center for Career Development. Come learn about MICA's programs of study and majors. All departments will be hosting information tables and answering questions.
