Vote for your favorite design and then see it on the shelves

Baltimore's High Grounds Coffee, which already features MICA alumni and faculty artwork on its Baltimore Artist Blend packaging (see related story), has worked with HandLetters, a MICA illustration course taught by department chair Whitney Sherman, to redesign its packaging, and now it is asking everyone to vote on which one, or five, you like the best. Sherman tasked her class to rebrand the retail packaging of the blend's 12-ounce bags, sold throughout Maryland, Washington, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. And now a competition online will determine which designs will hit the shelves.
"We hope to print a bunch of [the labels] and feature them at Whole Foods, our shop and on the MICA campus. So, please check out the art and tell us which ones you like and why," asks the shop. There are photos of the various label designs on High Grounds' Web site and you can fill out a basic form to pick your favorites. And, to reward those who vote, the shop is offering a raffle for a coffee card worth 11 free coffees.
UPDATE: Ten labels were ultimately created and printed, and the coffee is being sold at Whole Foods, Wegmans and at the Baltimore Museum of Art's gift shop. Support MICA artists and buy the delicious coffee!
High Grounds Coffee shop is located in Highlandtown, 3201 Eastern Ave.
