Graphic Design: The New Basics

Graphic Design: The New Basics Named a Top 25 Graphic Design Book of 2015

Posted

Ellen Lupton and Jennifer Cole Phillips, c0-directors of the MFA in Graphic Design recently released a revised edition of Graphic Design: The New Basics, a book they co-authored in 2008. This updated version was recently named one of the top 25 graphic design publictaions of 2015 by Print Magazine. See the full press release on Print Magazine's website, or visit www.gdbasics.com for more information.

Lupton and Cole Phillips were first inspired to write their book after realizing that many of the graphic design publications available were outdated, especially for emerging designers who were working with the most current technology.

The authors explain their motivation for writing their book, "Graphic Design: The New Basics lays out the elements of a visual language whose forms are employed by individuals, institutions, and locales that are increasingly connected in a global society. We hope the book will inspire more thought and creativity."
