Pet.Me, an interactive app was named among 14 Adobe Design Achievement Award winners worldwide out of a field of over 5,000 entrants. Pet.Me teaches young girls about their bodies with animated kitty characters and playful interactions.
Pet.Me is part of the Growing Girls Project, a collaboration between MICA's Graphic Design M.F.A. program and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Last fall, first-year graduate students, working in teams, created a handful of tools designed to inspire interaction and instill effective puberty education among our audience of 12- to 18-year-old inner city girls.
Pet.Me designers include Marina Roos Guthmann '17, Gurleen Kaur '17, Daniel Frumhoff '17, and Yinan Wang '17 (all Graphic Design M.F.A.). Faculty mentors for the project were Jennifer Cole Phillips and Jason Mathews Gottlieb.
