Community Show Calls for Artists

New Decker Group Exhibition "Accumulation" Now Accepted Submissions

Posted 02.27.18 by Allison Fischbach

MICA's Decker Library is pleased to announce it is currently accepting applications for artists to participate in a group show in the Decker Library, with the theme of ACCUMULATION. All mediums and sized will be considered. This call is open to all current MICA students, faculty, and staff. There is no application fee.

About the show:

We all have the tendency to gather things - photographs, books, slips of paper, memories, regrets -these things form unwitting collections. This tendency can lead to constructive ends - brick-by-brick building towers, homes, streets - or can be entirely without purpose. Snow banks, sand dunes, all made from mounds of the same small particle. Accumulation has many forms, and many ends, from a dragon guarding its hoard, to the library itself, stocking knowledge to share. We hope this show displays the myriad ways we accumulate in our lives and the ends it can reach.

Selected artworks will be on display on both levels of the Decker Library from September 25 to December 7, 2018.
