Below are a few examples of grants secured by the Corporate, Foundation and Government Relations Office to support key institutional priorities.

  1. City Awards College Grant for Energy Efficiency

    MICA President Fred Lazarus and Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake celebrate the partnership to improve the city's carbon footprint.

    City Awards College Grant for Energy Efficiency

    Through a grant from the City of Baltimore, MICA will be the first art school to use LED light bulbs throughout exhibition spaces. The LED bulbs, which utilize 18 watts instead of the current halogen bulbs that use up to 300 watts, also last eight to 16 times longer.

    In 2007, support from the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Trust provided MICA with the opportunity to offer a small number of full-ride scholarships.

    Since 2001, the Surdna Foundation has provided critically needed scholarship support to students in MICA’s summer low-residency MFA in Studio Art and Pre-College Studio Residency programs.

  5. City of Baltimore Supports Young People’s Studio Program @ MICA

    For more than a decade, MICA and the City of Baltimore have partnered to bring the arts to Baltimore’s youth through this scholarship program.
