Student Designers

Ex Tempore showcases garments that link styles and trends across generations. As vintage fashions and ideas influence new and dynamic styles, clothing is reborn. By placing their creative mark on this moment, these designers are both redefining and influencing the wearable across time.

Cindy Stauffer ’15 (fiber) and Miki Flores ’15 (interdisciplinary sculpture) – Exoskeleton

Exoskeleton is an exploration of bringing armor from the dark ages into modern times through the utilization of metal, modern fabric and abstract silhouettes. The collection is mainly inspired by the aesthetic of Japanese armor. It takes common motifs found in armor and repurposes them into a modern era, shown by the combination of these age-old metals with modern fibers.
