Conveniences include high-speed internet, laundry facilities, and studio spaces. On-campus communities also offer gated parking, beautiful courtyards and green space, a late night dining facility, and black box performance spaces. Live-in staff assist you with the transition to life at MICA, and the 24-hour security desks are a valuable resource when you need directions, information about Baltimore, or are just receiving a package from home.
Beginning with the fall 2014 semester, MICA will require all Foundation and Sophomore level students to reside on-campus. There will be exemptions allowed for financial need, commuter status, and other criteria. The College feels that this is an important piece in maximizing the student-artist community and ensuring the support needed for success. For students that have a need to request an exemption please review and complete the Housing Contract Release Request Form by the submission deadline; For students entring in the fall semester - submit by August 1. For students entering in the spring semester - submit by January 1. Requests to be released from the housing contract should be submitted as early as possible in order to complete the process in a timely manner. To receive an exemption decision in advance of the May 1st tuition deposit deadline (fall semester admits), appeals should be submitted no later than April 22nd.
Your Housing Assignment
Housing assignments will be sent via email to your MICA email account in the early to middle portion of August. Assignments are also mailed to permanent addresses approximately one week after the e-mail notification. Timelines are subject to change. The Residence Life & Off-Campus Housing Office is located in Latrobe House within Founders Green. The office is open weekdays from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. Room Rates & Meal Plans
The Residence Hall rates for the entire 2013-14 academic year (both fall and spring semesters combined) are as follows:
- Single: $9,380 ($4,690 per semester)
- Double: $8,500 ($4,250 per semester)
Accounts are billed per semester but contracts are for one full academic year.
