For Parents & Families

Our office is very familiar with the many challenges that college students face during their college experience. We are here to help and support your student throughout their time here at MICA.

A brief overview of our services:

The Student Counseling Center (SCC) is staffed by licensed psychologists and psychotherapists who provide individual, group, couples and family therapy. An intake session is provided to determine the kind of service that best fits the needs of the student and that is within the Center's scope of practice. Treatment goals are then determined with the student. The SCC will provide referrals for services off-campus if it is determined that the student's needs are outside of the Center's scope of practice. SCC does not provide services when the college or center is closed.

Services provided in the Student Counseling Center are free to all undergrad, grad and post-bac students currently enrolled in degree-seeking programs.

Important:

If your student is currently under care for mental health, please make arrangements with their provider at home for appointments during breaks and for receiving medications.

If your student will need more frequent therapy or psychiatric appointments, please consult our referral list.
