Application Requirements

UX (Online MPS)

Students in the Masters of Professional Studies in UX Design (MPS UXD) master fundamental principles of interface design, project management, prototyping, and usability as applied to industries from gaming to healthcare and education to defense. Industry partners bring real-world projects to the classroom and advise students on networking, best practices, and the dynamic nature of the profession. Graduates leave with a portfolio full of compelling and novel, next generation user experiences ready to support their professional aspirations.

Who Should Apply

The MPS in UX looks to enroll students who have recently completed their undergraduate degree as well as professionals preparing to shift careers. Ideal candidates have an undergraduate degree or a robust professional background in a visual art/design discipline coupled with a strong interest in leveraging their technical skills and creative abilities to increase their competitive advantage in the field of user experience design.

Application Requirements and Procedures for UX (Online MPS)

Applicants are encouraged to apply before July 1, 2018 for Fall 2018 consideration. Applications received after July 1 may be considered for 2019.

1. Graduate Admission Application Form: Completed and submitted online at mica.slideroom.com
2. Curriculum Vitae / Resume
3. UX Statement of Purpose: 

A written statement describing your personal and/or professional interest in graduate study in MICA's UX (Online MPS) program. (500 to 700 words)

4. Three (3) Letters of Reference

References are submitted online via SlideRoom. References from individuals familiar with your professional or technical experience are preferred. 

5. Proof of Degree or Equivalent

Digital transcripts from the last degree-granting institution can be uploaded to SlideRoom. Official transcripts are not required for the initial review process, however the Graduate Review Committee may request additional or official documentation before decision notification. 

6. Professional Portfolio

Candidates may submit up to 10 portfolio images that provide relevant insight into their candidacy for the UX (Online MPS) program. 

7. $75 Application Fee: Payable online during the submission stage at SlideRoom.
8. Additional Requirements for International Applicants

International candidates whose primary language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English. Additionally, certified translations of all letters of reference, transcripts and school documentation must be provided.
