MICA first implemented Oracle PeopleSoft's student information system, financial management system, and human resources management system in 1999. Through subsequent upgrades and development we have expanded the functionality of these systems to more fully support the administrative goals and mission of the college. We have also implemented several ancillary enterprise systems to extend the value of our core systems.
While a well implemented ERP solution will provide an organization with most of the functionality to meet its administrative needs, there are certain administrative functions that are better met using best-of-breed applications. At MICA we run a number of these applications, all subordinate to and integrated with our core administrative system stack.
Our chosen system to coordinate the scheduling of events and classes at MICA is Resource25 by CollegeNet. This system combines an interface with Campus Solutions and a web-based master calendar at MICA.
In 2011, MICA implemented a home-grown RMS with deep intergration into our Oracle PeopleSoft Student system.
Identity and access management is fully automated at MICA based on business rules defined by key areas of the organizaiton. This solution links identities and resources across the college's core systems.
MICA's Learning Management System is Moodle, hosted by MoodleRooms. All courses and enrollments are dynamically created in the system and support for faculty is offered through the Instructional Advancement & Technology office.
