Stephen Doolittle, 2009

Stephen Doolittle was born to simple agrarians in Northern California, in 1978. While incapable of sporting pursuits, from a young age Doolittle discovered that he was filled with manifold ideas for which he could receive attention. In 2005, after two and a half decades of great ideas, he earned a BFA from California State University, Chico.

Doolittle's work manifests itself from concepts that address the misrepresentations of ideals, particularly in regards to paradise and apocalypse. Other ideals, especially those concerned with the different levels of representation found in art, also seep into his imagery, congealing as platonic forms, twisted icons, and skewed geometric perspectives-all crawling around and through some unseen levitational armature.
